Running out of the SGA Office, carrying a folder with papers bulging out of both sides, Morgan Pippin, SGA President, is running one of his daily errands.

Pippin's job as president is time consuming. Pippin attends about 10 meetings per week, has to put in 20 office hours, makes sure that the student body stays informed about different issues, and serves as the student body's voice to the faculty and staff.

"If there is an issue that a student comes to me about, I try and let someone know within 48 hours," Pippin said. "I go to the source that needs to be told about it."

Pippin ran for president after his first year on the SGA.

"I had ideas for the University and wanted to implement them for the student body," Pippin said.

He campaigned with signs, Facebook flyers, cups, T-shirts and sidewalk chalk. He wasn't surprised when he won though.

"I did an excellent job campaigning," Pippin said. "Hard work pays off. I was ready to work as soon as I won."

Pippin wants a few changes within the campus.

"I want to have more international students to help with research and to make the campus more diverse," Pippin said. "I just want to make sure ASU stays at the same level with other first rate colleges in the state."

Pippin is a senior radio-tv major. Although he isn't quite sure what he will do with his major, he plans to attend graduate school.

Pippin, a graduate of Jonesboro High School, chose to go to ASU because its radio-tv department is the best in the state.

He is a member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity and enjoys hanging out with his fraternity brothers in his free time. His brothers would describe him as "cool, laid-back and business-minded."

Even though he has great support from the student body and his brothers, he looks up to his older fraternity brother, Adonis Thompson.

"He is just a person who has been through a lot and he always overcomes all of his problems," Pippin said. "I just admire that. He helps me to remember even through the hard times, you can still get through it all."
