Tamyria Burch proudly showed off her T-shirt, which was autographed by Troy University basketball player Jarvis Acker.

Asked her favorite part of Fun Day With Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, the 9-year-old said, "When he's shooting the ball."

Acker and Troy teammates Richard Damus and Jonathan Lee put on a little exhibition against some Charles Henderson High students for the crowd of about 50 children at the Troy Housing Authority Family Day Center on Saturday.   more >>

This July, two Forest Hills teachers, Mrs. Jennifer Barfield and Mrs. Stephanie Hardin, along with the Assistant Principal, Mrs. Wanda Sloan, will be traveling to Ghana, the school’s focus country for next year. During their trip they are going to visit local schools, taking supplies for the students.

The Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Iota Sigma Zeta Chapter of New Bern, NC held its Finer Womanhood and Legacy Banquet at the Flame Restaurant on Sunday, March 20, 2005. The theme for the occasion was “Preserving Our Legacy for Future Generations.”

Tiffaney Greene served as Mistress of Ceremonies. The Chapter’s President, Verna Okali extended a hearty welcome to all. Sudie Way gave the purpose of the occasion. It was to celebrate Zeta’s Finer Womanhood and the 25th year of the founding of Iota Sigma Zeta Chapter.  more >>
