Good will was spread Saturday for some retirement home residents in the capital city. The folks at the NCBA home on Forest Avenue were treated to free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings and a healthy lunch on the house. The Lamba Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha has adopted this retirement home and holds special events here regularly to benefit the residents.
“It's been around a long time. When our chapter was chartered years ago, we adopted this center and we work here tirelessly, actually,” said chapter vice president Leyser Hayes.
