The substantial crowd at Sunday's tribute to Donald Bonner came from across North Carolina and beyond to pay homage to the former state representative. There were ovations and orations - all testaments to what the Rowland native's service has meant to the county and state.
But Bonner, a former educator, said the evening really belonged to the 277 youths of the B.B. Thompson Young People's Concert Choir who performed for him during the evening. Proceeds from the benefit concert will help pay for the choir's trip to Washington, D.C., June 24-26. more >>
