Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will be honored at the first annual Diamond Pinnacle awards ceremony at the Empowerment Network conference, on Saturday July 23, 2005 outside of Atlanta, GA.

The Diamond Pinnacle awards ceremony is a black tie event which was created to recognize organizations for their outstanding accomplishments and ground breaking efforts.  This historical event, hosted by Jewel Diamond Taylor, world renowned TV host, author and motivational speaker, will take place at the Wyndham Resort and Conference Center in Peachtree City beginning at 6 p.m.  Since Alpha Phi Alpha and Alpha Kappa Alpha were the first African American fraternity and sorority, they will be receiving pioneer awards.

The Empowerment Network conference is a grand networking event where African Americans nationwide will come together to network, attend wealth building and motivational seminars, while empowering and learning from each other through black organizations.

Also, that day, the highly anticipated Greek Fashion Show, The Divine Legacy: Facades of Fashion, will take place at the Empowerment Network Conference.  This show will feature all 9 black Greek organizations, known as the Divine 9, to benefit the Atlanta Boys/Girls Club and Homeless Shelters in the Atlanta area.
