For the second time in the last three months, Tennessee linebacker Daniel Brooks has been accused of inciting a brawl with UT fraternity members — leaving his future with the Vols uncertain.

The latest incident occurred early Saturday morning at a party held by Omega Psi Phi at the University Center on campus. Several fights broke out between fraternity members and football players.

According to a UT police report, Brooks has been named as a suspect in an assault case after allegedly punching another student at the party. No charges have been filed, but UT police are investigating.  more >>

View Article  Sigma Gamma Rho holds youth symposium in the Virgin Islands

Students on St. Thomas and St. John are invited to participate in a youth symposium, "It's in the Bag," from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Charlotte Amalie High School.

Presented by the Theta Tau Sigma Alumni Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., the symposium is designed to educate young people about getting caught up in peer-pressuring situations that lead to delinquent or criminal behavior.

A panel of law enforcement agents led by attorney Judy Gomez of the V.I. Justice Department will discuss the consequences of fighting, drugs, drinking, cheating, gambling, assault and battery, false alarms, skipping class, stealing, vandalism and more.   more >>
