The bold fashions on view at this year's Ebony Fashion Fair promise to be attention-getters. The theme is "Living It Up," and designers are emphasizing color contrasts, lavish ornamentation and all-around glamour.

"I really enjoy getting a chance to look at the models and the fashions," says Donna Frazier, who's the general chairperson for Delta Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. The chapter is the local sponsor of the nationally touring fashion show, which is now on its 47th year.   more >>
View Article  Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority presents 10k gift to support BCCC Scholarship Endowment

The Rho Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority has contributed $10,000 in its ongoing support of a scholarship endowment at Baltimore City Community College. The gift will provide financial resources to BCCC students and complement Rho Xi Omega’s many contributions as a partner mentoring BCCC students.

“This directly supports our shared vision, to add value to the lives and community of Baltimore,” said Donna Stevenson, BCCC Foundation board chair and member of Rho Xi Omega.  

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority was the first Greek-letter organization established by black college women. Its philosophy is to improve socioeconomic conditions and help individuals and communities maintain constructive personal, business and civic relationships.  more >>

View Article  Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. host Finer Womanhood Week
The sisters of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. hosted Finer Womanhood Week on campus. Proceeds from events will go to the March of Dimes.

Nisha Ganster, senior from Hopkinsville and president of Zeta Phi Beta, said the sorority offered programs this week that benefit women and raise awareness about women's issues.

One of the programs Zeta Phi Beta participated in was "Mirrorless Monday," sponsored by the Women's Center.
