Money management is important for college students as they near graduation and start to gain independence from their parents.
George Ross, vice president of Finance and Administrative Services, stressed personal finance management Tuesday night as part of the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. “Simply Golden” week in the Bovee University Center Gold Room.
“The most important thing you can do for yourselves is to write out a budget on paper,” Ross said. “It will help you in the future to live within your means.”
Attendees learned the importance of having a checking and savings account, managing credit cards, paying bills on time, working and starting to plan for retirement.
