 Celebrating Black History Month isn't just about looking back. It's also about looking forward.

Themed Pioneers, Trailblazers and Visionaries, this year's HeritageFest will celebrate the area's diverse culture and promote the future success of local students.

In its 23rd year, the month-long event, organized by Boynton Beach and the Community Redevelopment Agency, features a street carnival, a concert, a pageant and a basketball tournament. The cultural extravaganza is expected to draw 20,000 visitors.  more >>

View Article  Zeta Phi Beta Sorority & BSS to plan On the Down Low

February is Black History Month, which will give students a chance to recognize the contributions African Americans have made to society, not just as a race but as Americans.

"The goal is really to have an inclusive event that shares information about the African American experience in America through different venues," said Tony Daniels, interim assistant director of Black Student Services.

The GLBTSS and the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority have also joined with BSS to plan "On the Down Low," which will discuss the lives of African American men who maintain homosexual relationships while still identifying themselves as straight.  more >>
